Glossary
Sequence
The ordered set of touches a contact receives, with waits and conditions between them.
The word is overloaded. It can mean the definition (the graph you author) or the instance (one contact's run through it). Tools that conflate the two end up with two places to edit the same thing and no way to answer where a given contact is.
Good sequences change channel rather than repeat themselves. A fourth email saying just bumping this is a worse use of a touch than a first message somewhere else.
What GTM does about it
A template is the definition, one per campaign. A sequence is one contact's run through it, which is rows the runtime wrote rather than a second copy of the graph.
